I've just realised that it's ten years this month since I started at Aber. Ten years.
Ten years since I was left in aroom in PJM watching the rain through the window, listening out for my new housemates to arrive, wondering what I was going to eat because I'd never cooked anything before and hoping life in Aber was going to be less scary than it felt that day.
Now I'm sitting in an office, watching the rain through the window, listening to the gentle whirr of the photocopier and colleagues swearing, wondering whether to have roast or baked potatoes with the my lamb steak for tea and realising that life will probably never be as much fun again as it was in Aber.
For some reason thinking about that made me try to remember my password for this blog. Now I have to try and think of something more meaningful to write for future updates.

Ten years, eh? I remember when I got to the point where it had been ten years since I'd started at Aber. In fact, I was still living there when ten years rolled around. /mind boggles/
If you're missing Aber, you should come down to Oxford some day for a mini Troma Night down here: we're only an hour's drive away from you now, I reckon. If you leave it a few weeks Paul will be back from France, too, so he'll be here, and - you never know - we might even be able to get Alec & Suz up (they're just around the corner from us now). Look me up online and let's chat sometime, 'k?
If you're really missing Aber, come over and we'll all give you a damn good stroking, for old times' sake. Also, make you hold a sign that proclaims that you have genital warts.
Seriously, though: nostalgia's all in your head. What makes life awesome is what you do with it today, not what you did a decade ago when you were young(er) and foolish(er). Take it from a wise old man. =op
